The Danish insurance group Codan A/S reported on Thursday (11 May) a pre-tax profit of DKK47m for the financial quarter January-March 2006, a decrease from DKK476m in the corresponding period in 2005.
Earned premiums for general insurance increased to DKK3.69bn from DKK3.59bn in the three-month period last year. Earned premiums for life and pensions insurance decreased to DKK15m from DKK17m.
One Danish krone (DKK) is worth approximately 0.09 British pounds (GBP).
