The Danish wind turbines manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S on Monday (3 July) revealed plans to establish a research and development centre in Singapore.
When fully operational the new R&D centre will employ over 150 people.
"At the moment, we are establishing a new development centre and the world's largest test centre for gearboxes, generators and nacelles, both in Aarhus, Denmark. Combined with a new development centre in Asia, this gives Vestas the best possible conditions for creating a global and attractive research environment which can attract the best talents," said Finn Strom Madsen, president of Vestas Technology R&D.
Vestas Technology R&D is also establishing a back office in Chennai, India.
