Norwegian shipbuilder Aker Yards ASA said on Monday (18 December) that it has received a contract to build a new construction vessel for DOFCON ASA, a subsidiary of DOF ASA.
The NOK500m contract covers a construction vessel of the design Aker OSCV 03.
The vessel, the second of its kind built by Aker Yards for DOF, will be delivered from Aker Yards in Aukra, Norway in June 2009.
Aker Yards, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, is an international shipbuilding group with 20,000 employees at 17 yards in Brazil, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Romania and Ukraine. The company is 50.4% owned by the multi-industry group Aker Group. Aker Yards is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and traded under the ticker AKY.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 12.21 Norwegian kroner (NOK).
