Nordic Business Report-January 16, 2007-Atelje Margaretha acquires Swedish mail-order company Ashild (C)1994-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com Swedish private equity company Litorina Kapital said on Tuesday (16 January) that its portfolio company Atelje Margaretha is to acquire the Swedish niche mail-order company Ashild. Ashilds product range comprises self-designed clothing, manufactured in Estonia, Poland and Asia, and also underwear and support shapewear. Ashild had a turnover of approximately SEK65m in 2006, with strong profitability. After the acquisition Atelje Margaretha and Ashild will be operated as two separate brand names. Following the acquisition Litorina will own 70% of Atelje Margaretha and the remaining stake will be owned by the management and the founders of Ashild and Atelje Margaretha. The acquisition price was not disclosed. Atelje Margaretha is leading mail-order company within embroidery products in the Nordic region. Litorina Kapital, headquartered in Stockholm in Sweden, invests in Nordic privately-held companies in the lower end of the mid-market.
