The Swedish online gaming operator Betsson AB (formerly Cherryforetagen) said on Monday (18 October) that its subsidiary Betsson Malta Ltd has shut out all US players from its online casino sites.
The decision to shut out US gamers from the casino sites follows legal changes in the US, which has made it impossible to forward payment transactions for online gaming.
Betsson's other sites were previously closed for US gamers.
Betsson pointed out that US gamers have represented less than 3% of its turnover, and that the company's main market is Europe.
Betsson, based in Sweden, operates online games and supplies gaming systems. The company has 150 employees.
