Kölleda, 16 August 2006. The Supervisory Board of Funkwerk AG has appointed Hans-Ekkehard Domröse (61) as a new member of the Board of Management of the Thuringia-based technology group. The graduate economist and telecommunications expert is to assume immediate responsibility for the Enterprise Communication segment at Board of Management level. Chairman of the Board of Management Dr Hans Grundner was previously responsible for this segment.
Domröse joined FUNKTEL GmbH, Salzgitter, which has been integrated into Funkwerk Enterprise Communications (FEC), as Managing Director on 1 August 2002. Previously he held, among others, management positions at Tiptel AG and at Nortel Networks Germany, AEG Mobile Communication, Talkline and Hagenuk. With Funkwerk, he increased the sales volume of the company's Enterprise Communication segment, which was set up in 2002, to around EUR 100 million within 4 years. Today FEC is one of the leading European providers of components for professional communication networks, such as routers, wireless LAN equipment, TK systems, voice-over-IP solutions and integrated access devices (IADs).
Board of Management drives forward structural change in Traffic & Control Communication segment
In parallel with the handing over of the Enterprise Communication segment to Domröse, Dr. Hans Grundner assumes personal responsibility for the Traffic & Control Communication (TCC) segment. "We are facing major challenges in this area and must make structural changes. The aim of the restructuring is to establish clear lines of responsibility, end-to-end project orientation and improved management control. We will pursue this essential change process as a matter of urgency," commented the Chairman of the Board of Management.
To guarantee this, Harald Steglich (56), previously the member of the Funkwerk Board of Management responsible for the TCC segment, will in future focus on operational management at Hörmann Funkwerk Kölleda GmbH and will retire from the Funkwerk Board of Management. Steglich, who has been for a long time in management positions at Hörmann Funkwerk Kölleda GmbH, will be responsible for securing the successful implementation of the restructuring measures decided by the Board of Management for the company, which specialises in communication systems for traffic operators.
