LAS VEGAS, NV -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 05/01/2006 -- SPRING INTEROP 2006 Booth # 1941 -- Codian, a pioneer in developing video conferencing infrastructure products designed specifically for today's IP-based communication environments, announced today compatibility with the Siren14(TM) / G.722.1 Annex C wideband audio coding technology standard, offering Codian customers CD quality audio and greater clarity for video conferencing applications.
At INTEROP Las Vegas, Codian will demonstrate its range of high performing video conferencing products in its Booth #1941.
Codian has licensed Siren14(TM) from Polycom® and this is another example of Codian's commitment to high quality audio conferencing. By providing compatibility with the Siren14(TM) codec, Codian's MCU and IP VCR customers now have the flexibility to use the most advanced audio available on Polycom's video conferencing endpoints. The Codian solution is compatible with all manufacture's endpoints and automatically transcodes between the different audio standards allowing each participant to connect at the optimum codec without loss of quality.
Codian's Universal Port technology supports any audio or video codec, any speed, any resolution, and any layout (including over 50 continuous presence multipoint layouts) on any port with no reduction in the number of sites or conferences supported.
"Codian remains focused on delivering the highest quality video and audio conferencing experience to customers," said Will MacDonald, general manager of Codian Americas. "To this end, we are committed to supporting all high quality and commonly used codecs such as Siren14(TM)."
Codian has also announced support for worldwide languages for the MCU 4200 voice and video conference bridge. Uploadable language packages for German, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean are now available from Codian and their global partners. Localization provides Codian's growing global customer base with a personalized experience through translation of the user and administrator web interface, online help and audio prompts.
According to MacDonald, Codian built its video conferencing infrastructure products to be flexible and adaptable for a variety of global customers with varying communications needs. "We've demonstrated our flexibility by providing localization support for our international customers without compromising the reliability and quality experience they have come to expect."
Codian's video and audio conferencing solutions are known for utmost quality resulting in an overall better user experience. This added audio functionality coupled with increased support for localization in multiple languages, solidifies Codian's position in providing superior quality video conferencing products.
