Finnish mediation software solutions company Comptel Corporation said on Tuesday (3 January) that it had completed the planning of the integration of EDB Telecom Businesses. Comptel would focus product development in its core competence areas in convergent mediation and charging as well as service fulfilment automation. The goal of the integration is to secure Comptel Group's competitiveness, long-term growth and to reach its 20% operating profit target level in 2007. Potential cost reduction includes subcontracting, office and infrastructure related costs, and possible reduction of personnel. The reduction need is estimated to be less than 10 persons in Finland. In addition Comptel has requested its fully owned subsidiary Comptel Communications AS in Norway to consider taking actions for reducing personnel by about 40 persons.
