Danish meat processing and marketing company Tulip Food Company, part of Danish Crown group, has reportedly decided to close down its pork products plant in Braband, Denmark.
Tulip plans to relocate the production to its other facilities in Denmark or abroad as part of a new strategy to reduce costs, according to the Danish business news site Business.dk.
The Braband plant has 186 employees. It is expected to close its doors in September 2007.
Tulip Food Company has eight facilities in Denmark and two in Germany. The company is part of Danish Crown, which has 2,300 employees and an annual turnover of DKK5bn.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 11.08 Danish kroner (DKK).
