Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson said on Tuesday (24 January) that all conditions for the acquisition key assets of London-headquartered telecomms solutions provider Marconi Corporation plc's telecommunications business have been fulfilled and the transaction has been completed. The acquisition strengthens Ericsson's position in the accelerating transmission segments and expands Ericsson's platform for leadership in next generation converging networks, according to the company. The acquisition is effective as per 1 January 2006, Ericsson said.
