Swedish telecommunication solutions provider Ericsson (Nasdaq: ERIC) said on Thursday (26 October) that it has won a WCDMA/HSPA radio equipment supply and installation contract from the French mobile operator Bouygues Telecom.
Bouygues Telecom has selected Ericsson as its partner in the building of a new WCDMA/HSPA mobile broadband network, and under the contract Ericsson will provide, install and integrate 50% of the entire network over the next five years.

Ericsson is also the supplier of Bouygues Telecom's GSM and WCDMA/HSPA mobile core network.
"This contract is Ericsson's first radio equipment agreement in France, and it is a major turning point in the relationship between Bouygues Telecom and Ericsson - a result of our constructive partnership established over the years," commented Guy Roussel, president of Ericsson France.
The financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
Ericsson is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. Its equipment is used in more than 1,000 networks in 140 countries, and 40% of the world's mobile calls are made through Ericsson systems.
