Düsseldorf, 31.05.2006 - In the first quarter of the current accounting year the Wapme Group realised a turnover of T¤ 2.992 (PY: T¤ 19.584) and an operating result (EBITDA) of T¤ -763 (PY: T¤ -990). The result before interest and taxes (EBIT) was T¤ -1.043 (PY: T¤ -1.359), which resulted in the annual deficit of T¤ -1.175 (PY: T¤ -1.445).

The significantly reduced turnover was mainly caused by the selling of more phones GmbH. Nevertheless the Wapme Group managed to improve its operating result significantly compared to the previous year.

The recapitalisation and repositioning programme of the Wapme Group which was commenced at the end of last year has not yet been finalised. Measures such as the report of the loss of half of the authorised capital as well as the resolution of agenda items, et al. the recapitalisation plan, were accepted by a clear majority of the shareholders at the subsequent extraordinary general meeting.

Moreover, essential targets could be accomplished such as the sales of more phones GmbH, the consolidation of two convertible bonds, first corporate actions as well as the leading of Lawa Group back to profitability.

As the recapitalisation will continue, the paramount and most critical task is to secure liquidity up to the point of Break Even which is to be reached in the course of the ongoing accouting year.
