Reykjvik (IFN) Swedish telecommunications company L.M. Ericsson Telephone Co. Tuesday said it will deliver the full IPTV solution and end-to-end systems integration services to U.K.-based telecommunications company Vodafone Group Plc. unit Vodafone Iceland.
The integrated solution will be the first step in the evolution toward converged multimedia end-user services based on Ericsson IP Multimedia Subsystem, or IMS, it said.
Gestur G. Gestsson, chief technical officer, Vodafone Iceland said: "The IPTV system from Ericsson will enable user interaction, for example voting, with traditional TV programs. Together with voice services and the internet over broadband networks, this IPTV solution is a complete Triple Play service. We believe that this gives great advantages for our subscribers."
Mikael Baeckstroem, president of Ericsson Nordic and Baltics said: "We are proud to deliver and integrate our IPTV solution to Vodafone Iceland. Vodafone Iceland will have our full end-to-end IPTV system in their network and we are exited about this cooperation. This will further strengthen our relationship with Vodafone Iceland."
