Kreatel Communications AB, a Swedish provider of set-top boxes for IP-based entertainment, said on Tuesday (17 January) that the US telecomms solutions provider Motorola had entered into an agreement to acquire Kreatel. Following the acquisition Kreatel's management and employees would remain based in Linkoping, Sweden, and would be integrated into the Motorola Connected Home Solutions business. The main current shareholders of Kreatel are ABN AMRO Capital, SEB Foretagsinvest and Innovationskapital. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2006, subject to customary closing conditions.
