Norwegian low-fare airline Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (Norwegian) said on Thursday (6 April) that it was setting up a base in Warsaw, Poland and would start flights to five European cities.
To begin with, two aircraft would be based in Warsaw to fly the routes to Alicante, Barcelona/Girona, Malaga, Nice and Oslo.
Norwegian said that it had been looking for Polish pilots and cabin staff, and the response had been enormous.
The new routes from Poland are intended to meet the need for budget flights in this market.
