The Finnish minerals processing technology company Outokumpu Technology Oyj said on Wednesday (11 October) that it has won a contract to design and deliver a copper-zinc concentrator for a project in Kazakhstan.
The contract, awarded by Aktyubinsk Copper Company, an affiliated company to Russian Copper Company, is valued at over EUR30m.
The contract covers basic design, supply of process equipment and supervision services for the 2m tonnes per year Green Mountain 2 project.
Outokumpu Technology also supplied the Green Mountain 1 copper concentrator, currently under commissioning.
Outokumpu Technology was de-merged from Finnish stainless steel group Outokumpu and listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange on 10 October. The company has 1,800 employees and annual sales of EUR556m.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.48 euros (EUR).
