The Finnish energy group Pohjolan Voima Oy said on Wednesday (4 October) that its subsidiary PVO-Innopower Oy has made the investment decision regarding the first stage of a planned 30 MW wind power project in Kemi in Finland.

The first stage of the project involves the building of three 5 MW wind power plants.

The first stage is expected to cost some EUR24m, and to begin production in early 2008.

One euro (EUR) is worth approximately 0.67 British pounds (GBP).
