The Norwegian solar systems, applications and components provider Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (REC) said on Monday (15 May) that its wholly-owned subsidiary REC Solar has secured a five-year framework contract for solar modules from Spanish solar farms provider Gamesa Solar.
The agreement covers approximately 50 MWp of solar modules and is estimated to be worth EUR25-35m already in 2006.
"The contract with Gamesa Solar creates an important entry for REC into the Spanish market, and will secure REC Solar a broader market presence within the growing Mediterranean market," REC said in a statement.
One euro (EUR) is worth approximately 0.69 British pounds (GBP).
