The Norwegian food group Rieber & Son ASA said on Monday (3 July) that its proposed acquisition of Swedish chilled and frozen cakes and desserts company Frodinge Mejeri AB has been approved by the competition authorities.
The deal will be completed on Monday.
The acquisition will almost double Rieber & Son's sales within cakes and desserts, as well as the company's sales in Sweden.
The coordination of Frodinge Mejeri's activities with those of Rieber & Son is expected top result in annual synergy benefits of SEK10m.
One Swedish krona (SEK) is worth approximately 0.07 British pounds (GBP).
