The Danish brewery Royal Unibrew A/S issued on Thursday (27 April) its report for the first quarter, posting a pre-tax loss of DKK52.4m, as compared to a loss of DKK17.4m in the first quarter of 2005.
The decline was due to increased sales and marketing costs and costs associated with the consolidation of acquired operations.
The net turnover amounted to DKK648.0m, as compared to DKK626.4m in the first quarter last year.
Royal Unibrew expects to reach a full-year pre-tax profit of DKK310-350m.
One Danish krone (DKK) is worth approximately 0.09 British pounds (GBP).
