As of 1 June 2006, Saunalahti's mobile interconnection fee will be the same as Elisa's mobile interconnection fee at 8.4 cents per minute, compared to earlier charge of 11 cents per minute. The change is due to Saunalahti's operations being part of Elisa's business operations.
Compared with the previous interconnection fee practices the change is estimated to reduce Elisa's revenue and EBITDA by approximately EUR 10 million in 2006. Elisa's outlook concerning a marked increase in revenue and improved EBITDA and EBIT in 2006 remain unchanged.
Elisa has also reached an agreement on new mobile interconnection fees with TeliaSonera Finland. As of 1 January 2007, the interconnection fee will be 7.25 cents per minute in Elisa's mobile network and 6.6 cents per minute in TeliaSonera Finland's mobile network (6.8 cents per minute in 2006). Elisa's current fee of 8.4 cents per minute will be applied until 31 December 2006.
The reduction is attributable to increased traffic volumes in Elisa's network and the achieved negotiation outcome, the aim of which is to maintain and reinforce developments in intra-industry financial relationships that promote predictability and competition in a healthy manner.
