The Norway-listed Bermuda-based drilling rigs operator SeaDrill Ltd said on Monday (31 July) that it has received a letter of intent for a two-year contract for its semi-submersible self-erecting tender rig West Berani from Newfield Peninsula Malaysia Inc.

The proposed contract is worth approximately USD87m.

West Berani, which is currently under construction, is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2006.

One US dollar (USD) is worth approximately 0.54 British pounds (GBP).
