Nordic Business Report-January 11, 2007-Semcon ABs German joint venture wins first GM assignment (C)1994-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com Swedish product design and development company Semcon AB said on Thursday (11 January) that its 50/50 joint venture with German electronics and software developer ESG Elektroniksystem und Logistik GmbH (ESG) has been awarded its first assignments from General Motors. The company, set up in 2006 to provide after-market information solutions to General Motors, has now received a contract to provide service instructions, labour times and illustrations to one of GMs future vehicle platforms. The agreement is valid until 2010. The financial value of the contract was not disclosed. Semcon, headquartered in Gothenburg in Sweden, develops IT solutions, provides user-friendly technical information and converts ideas into products. The group has 1,700 employees worldwide and reported sales of SEK1.5bn in 2005. Semcon is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.
