The Norwegian electro-optical instruments provider Simrad Optronics ASA said on Friday (7 April) that it has received a development contract from the Swedish and Norwegian armed forces.
The assignment covers the development of a laser target designator add-on for the FOI2000 target locator system.
"The design and development phase is expected to be followed by the armies placing an order in 2006 for product deliveries in 2007 and 2008. All in total this will represent a major new contract for the company," Simrad Optronics said.
