Norwegian energy company Statkraft AS reported on Thursday (17 August) an operating profit of NOK5.7bn on gross operating revenues of NOK8.7bn for the financial period January-June 2006.

Both operating profit and gross operating revenues for the six-month period increased, respectively from NOK4.3bn and NOK7.1bn, as compared to the corresponding period in 2005.

Operating profit for the quarter April-June 2006 amounted to NOK2.1bn on gross operating revenues of NOK3.5bn.

One Norwegian krone (NOK) is worth approximately 0.09 British pounds (GBP).
