Information logistics group Stralfors AB, part of the Swedish postal services group Posten AB (Sweden Post), said on Tuesday (24 October) that it has agreed to acquire the printing company Edita Tandsbyn AB from Edita Sverige AB, a Swedish subsidiary of the Finnish state-owned full-service communications provider Edita Plc.
Edita Tandsbyn produces bank payment slips and forms and is a supplier to the Swedish Bank Giro Centre. The company has 40 employees and an annual turnover of SEK38m.
The acquisition is expected to result in synergy gains for Stralfors within the production of printed bank products, and the company plans to transfer its existing bank products operations from its facility in Ljungby to Tandsbyn.
For Edita Sverige the deal is part of its strategy to focus on market communications.
The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Stralfors, acquired by Posten in June 2006, has operations in Scandinavia, France, Great Britain, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, the USA and Singapore. Its annual net sales amount to some SEK3.4bn.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 13.70 Swedish kronor (SEK).
