The Finnish forest industry group UPM-Kymmene Corporation said on Thursday (29 June) that the US Department of Justice Antitrust Division has decided not to bring any charges against UPM-Kymmene's former CEO Juha Niemela.

"UPM has been informed that the US Department of Justice Antitrust Division has completed its investigation of antitrust and related offences concerning UPM's former CEO Juha Niemela and has concluded that no charges will be brought against him," UPM-Kymmene said in a brief statement.

UPM-Kymmene's other current and former employees were granted immunity from prosecution in February.

The Department of Justice Antitrust Division investigated a possible price fixing activity in the magazine paper industry.
