The Norwegian financial software and outsourcing services provider Visma ASA said on Thursday (6 July) that it has decided to establish a new company to provide complete and integrated retail solutions.

Visma said that it will acquire a minority holding in Visma Retail AS, after which the company will be merged with Visma's 60%-owned subsidiary Vestfold Butikkdata AS.

The joint company will operate under the name Visma Retail.

The new business will be the Nordic area's largest provider of chain solutions and is expected to achieve revenues of over NOK260m in 2006.

One Norwegian krone (NOK) is worth approximately 0.09 British pounds (GBP).
