In order to focus on the two Competence Areas Climate and Processing, WMH sold its 100% participation in Charles Hasler AG on April 19, 2007.
Charles Hasler is a wholesale company dealing in components for air conditioning and refrigeration systems. This step underlines the WMH objective to position itself in the Climate Competence Area as a solutions provider for all aspects of indoor climate (heating, ventilating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying). With this transaction, the sales percentage of components will be further reduced, enabling WMH to focus on areas of specialized technology. The financial resources generated by this sale will be used for acquisitions in the business segment Climate Technology, focusing on manufacturers of air conditioning and ventilating systems.
The company has been purchased by the Swedish comany G&L Beijer Ref AB. It was agreed that details of the selling price would be kept confi dential. Charles Hasler employs approximately 35 people in Regensdorf ZH and the company plans to retain all these positions. The new owners intend to maintain current operations in the same format.
Walter Meier Holding (WMH) is a worldwide distribution and industrial group specializing in the two Competence Areas Climate and Processing. In 2006 WMH generated sales of CHF 773.9 mil. with approximately 1800 employees. WMH shares are quoted on the SWX Swiss Exchange, security no. 1594024.
