Statistics Norway, the Norwegian state statistics agency, said on Wednesday (16 November) that six out of ten households in Norway had access to the Internet in the second quarter of 2005. Some 65% of these subscriptions were broadband connections, the agency said. Three quarters of households had access to a PC, and it was in daily use by 58% of the Norwegian population. The primary purpose of using the Internet was searching for information or use of online services, and 90% used the Internet for communication. Internet shopping was more popular than last year, with 80% having used the Internet for purchase/sale of goods and services.
