Finnish no-frills carrier Air Aland will reportedly start its first service, between Helsinki and Mariehamn, in late October 2005. Another route, between Mariehamn and Turku, would be launched in January 2006. Both services would be flown with Saab 340 aircraft, a 33-seat turboprop type, according to the company. Air Aland is owned by several companies based in the Aland Islands, a Finnish demilitarised province, reported the Finnish news agency STT.
