The Swedish industrial group Alfa Laval AB said on Wednesday (22 March) that it had received a SEK45m order for supply of plate heat exchangers to a joint venture between BASF and The Dow Chemical Company. The equipment is to be used in a new petrochemical plant in Antwerp, Belgium, the company said. The plant would produce propylene oxide which is used in, for example, the manufacturing of polyurethane, propylene glycol, chemical intermediates and textile surfactants. Delivery would take place during 2007, Alfa Laval said. One Swedish krona (SEK) is worth approximately 0.07 British pounds (GBP).
