Swedish heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling systems provider Alfa Laval said on Thursday (7 December) that it has received a SEK60m contract from Russian company JSC Rumaco.
The contract covers the delivery of a complete fats modification plant in Serpukhov in the Moscow region in Russia. The contract includes a service agreement.
With the new contract Alfa Laval has, this year, received vegetable oil contracts for a total of SEK210m in Russia and Ukraine.
"During the year, we have noticed an increased interest in investing in vegetable oil refineries and it is obvious that the increasingly high standard of living in Russia and other countries has resulted in a general demand for new and healthier products," said Lars Renstrom, CEO of Alfa Laval.
Alfa Laval, headquartered in Lund in Sweden, has some 10,000 employees and annual sales of SEK16.5bn. The company has customers in nearly 100 countries. Alfa Laval is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 13.49 Swedish kronor (SEK).
