The Swedish fabrication technology provider Arcam AB said on Monday (18 October) that it has received an order for two of its EBM S12 electron beam-based free form fabrication systems from its US distributor Stratasys.

With the latest order Stratasys has placed six EBM systems on the US market this year. Arcam appointed Stratasys as its US distributor in January.

The EBM S12 is a CAD-to-cam system that manufactures components by melting metal powder and building up the parts layer-by-layer.

The value of the order was not disclosed.

Arcam has some 24 employees and reported sales of SEK21m in the first six months of this year.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 13.70 Swedish kronor (SEK).
