Materials, chemicals and ingredients group DSM (Euronext Amsterdam: DSM) said on Monday (4 September) that its unit DSM Coating Resins has decided to terminate its long alkyd compounds production in Landskrona, Sweden.
The production of the compounds will be concentrated to DSM's existing facilities in the Netherlands and Spain.
The reorganisation will affect 50 employees in Landskrona.
"DSM Coating Resins' decision was prompted by developments in the competitive landscape in the alkyd industry and changing regulatory requirements. By concentrating production at the sites in the Netherlands and Spain and terminating production at the site in Sweden, DSM Coating Resins will sustain and enhance the cost competitiveness of this business," DSM said.
