The Swedish exploration company Lappland Goldminers AB said on Wednesday (14 June) that its wholly-owned subsidiary Lappland Guldprospektering AB had applied to the Mining Inspectorate of Sweden (Bergsstaten) for an exploitation concession.

The Stortjarnhobben deposit, located on the Gold Line, is planned to be the second mine, after the Faboliden mine, to supply ore to the central processing facilities at Faboliden.

Lappland Goldminers is also working on a number of other projects along the Gold Line, where there is potential for new discoveries, the company said.
