Finnish pulp and paper maker Oy Metsa-Botnia AB, a subsidiary of the Finnish forest industry group Metsaliitto Group, has reportedly announced that it would halt construction of its mill in Fray Bentos in Uruguay on 6 April.
According to newspapers in Uruguay, the company had made the announcement in a meeting with the National Construction and Allied Trades Union of Uruguay (Sunca).
Sunca said the company had promised that wages would be paid even during the halt in production, reported the Finnish news agency STT.
