The Norwegian power IT systems provider Powel ASA said on Friday (29 September) that it has received a contract for its Powel Street Light system from the Norwegian network operator Hafslund Nett AS.
Hafslund Nett is implementing the Powel Street Light system as part of its pioneering two-way street light communication system, which will enable 20-30% energy savings through dynamically curtailing light output.
The Street Light system will communicate, maintain and control Hafslund Net's entire street light network, and will also automate maintenance, coordinate contractors, and respond more quickly to public inquiries.
The value of the contract was not disclosed.
