Pöyry's Energy business group has been awarded a consulting engineering services contract for the China Utility-Based Energy Efficiency Finance Programme (CHUEE) by International Finance Corporation (IFC). The services will be provided to IFC based on a framework contract over a period of two years. The value of the assignment is not disclosed.
IFC is the private sector arm of the World Bank Group. IFC aims at triggering approximately RMB 1.2 billion worth of energy efficiency investments in China over the next 5-6 years under the CHUEE programme. Pöyry will provide engineering services for the programme implementation, including engineering services to identify, analyse and prepare energy efficiency projects and to support the CHUEE programme activities.
The project awarded is an important opening to China's energy consulting market where energy efficiency issues are important in the coming years. Pöyry's sub-consultants are the Finnish governmental energy efficiency agency Motiva Oy and the Chinese engineering and consulting companies CECIC and Uniufa.
