Normal service was restored on Saturday (28 January) on flights operated by Scandinavian Airlines in Norway after pilots' sickness absences caused disruption. According to Reuters, approximately 50 pilots of the Norwegian unit of the airline called in sick on Saturday out of 800. This was approximately half the rate of the past five days and enabled the airline to operate as normal. The action is reportedly due to pilots' anger at plans for a new system of pay talks. SAS Braathens has been forced to cancel approximately one third of its 440 daily flights since last Monday (23 January).
