Scandinavian airline SAS Group said on Monday (12 June) that the board of SAS Technical Services AB (STS) had decided to focus its operations for aircraft maintenance around the three main airports in Scandinavia.

As a consequence of this, the production base at Sola near Stavanger in Norway will be closed as of 31 August 2006.

SAS said that 265 employees at Sola will be affected by the closure.
