Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson said on Monday (31 July) that the Hong Kong mobile operator SmarTone-Vodafone is launching Hong Kong's first commercial mobile broadband service with full HSDPA coverage.
The launch follows Ericsson's upgrade of SmarTone-Vodafone's 3G/WCDMA network with HSDPA.
The upgrade to HSDPA enables SmarTone-Vodafone to deliver broadband speeds of up to 1.8 Mb/s to laptops, the company said.
Under the agreement Ericsson has delivered HSDPA hardware, software and implementation services.
