Swedish IT consulting group Sigma AB said on Monday (30 October) that it has agreed to sell its subsidiary Sigma Datorex to Norwegian company Lindbak Retail Systems AS, part of LindbakGruppen.

Sigma Datorex provides systems and services to the retail sector and has developed its own product family, Bridge. The company has 19 employees and reported a turnover of 18m in 2005.

For Sigma the sale is part of its strategy to focus on its core business. For Lindbak Retail Systems the acquisition is part of its growth strategy.

Sigma said that the deal will result in a profit of SEK5m.

Sigma, headquartered in Gothenburg in Sweden, is one of the country's leading IT consulting groups. The company has some 1,000 employees in Sweden, Denmark and Ukraine. Sigma is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 13.70 Swedish kronor (SEK).
