Nordic Business Report-January 17, 2007-Swedish outdoor equipment supplier Haglofs divests Norwegian shoe manufacturer Alfa Skofabrik AS (C)1994-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com Swedish private equity company Ratos AB said on Wednesday (17 January) that its portfolio company, outdoor equipment supplier Haglofs, has agreed to sell its Norwegian shoe manufacturing subsidiary Alfa Skofabrik AS. The company is being acquired by Katalysator, a private equity company owned by the Moller family. The sales price was not disclosed, but according to Ratos the transaction will result in a capital loss of approximately SEK13m for Haglofs. The deal will, however, have a small positive effect on earnings. "The sale of Alfa Skofabrik will release Haglofs resources for its export focus. Haglofs will continue to co-operate with Alfa in develop work on Haglofs own footwear range," Ratos said in a press release. Ratos, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, has some SEK9bn in investments. The company is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Stockholm. One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 13.38 Swedish kronor (SEK). ((Comments on this story may be sent to [email protected]))
