Sweden-based telecomms operator Tele2 AB said on Wednesday (16 August) that it had agreed in principle with the Dutch operator Versatel Telecom International N.V. to combine their Dutch and Belgian operations.
The intention is that the combination would be effected by Versatel acquiring Tele2's Dutch and Belgian businesses.
The transaction is expected to be finalised before the end of 2006.
No financial information was provided.
