Nordic Business Report-December 14, 2006-Telenor launches Microsofts Windows Live Messenger for mobile phones in Norway (C)1994-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com Norwegian telecomms group Telenor ASA said on Thursday (14 December) that it was launching Microsofts (Nasdaq: MSFT) Windows Live Messenger for mobile phones. Telenor is the first to offer this service to Norwegian mobile users, the company said. The service is available from today and is free of charge for Telenor and djuice customers until 1 June 2007. After the free period the service will cost NOK49 per month. For the time being Messenger is available for four mobiles: Sony Ericsson W810i, K610i and K800i and Nokia N73, but support for more models will be available soon. Telenor is one of the worlds largest mobile operators with nearly 83m subscribers in 12 countries. The group is also the largest provider of television services in the Nordic region. Telenor has some 27,600 employees and annual revenues of nearly NOK70bn. Telenor is listed on Oslo Stock Exchange under the ticker TEL and on Nasdaq under the ticker TELN.
