The Swedish bus manufacturer Volvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Buses), part of Volvo group, said on Wednesday (24 May) that it has won an order for 118 articulated buses for the Transmilenio bus rapid transit system in Bogota, Colombia.
The orders were placed by bus operators Conexion Movil, Express del Futuro and Metrobus.
The chassis will be built at Volvo Buses in Brazil, while the bodies will be manufactured by the Colombian companies Superpolo and Busscar. The buses will be assembled by GM Colmotores in Colombia.
The value of the order was not disclosed.
