The Norwegian engineering, construction and technology company Aker Kvaerner ASA said on Monday (2 October) that its drilling equipment business Aker Kvaerner MH has secured a USD86m contract for drilling equipment from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co Ltd in Korea.
The order, based on an option included in a contract signed in February, covers the delivery of a complete drilling package, including engineering, equipment deliveries and commissioning services, for an ultra deepwater semi-submersible drilling rig.
One US dollar (USD) is worth approximately 0.52 British pounds (GBP).
