Icelandic telecomms company Iceland Landssimi Islands hf (Iceland Telecom Ltd) said on Thursday (1 September) that the Icelandic Competition and Fair Trade Authority had approved Skipti ehf's acquisition of 98.8% of the share capital in Iceland Telecom. Skipti would pay the purchase price for the share capital to the Icelandic government on 1 September 2005, the company said. No financial information was provided.
