Swedish IT consulting group Sigma AB announced on Tuesday (9 January) that its wholly-owned subsidiary Sigma Enterprise Applications AB has agreed to sell its Nordic operations relating to the Lawson S3 Enterprise Management System to US-based Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN).
The divestment follows Lawson Softwares merger with Swedish company Intentia, and also reflects Sigmas strategy to streamline operations to services.
"The operations [to be divested] have involved substantial work with maintenance and product development and, accordingly, are not compatible with Sigmas continued strategy," Sigma said.
Sigma Enterprise Applications Lawson S3 operations have 14 employees and are expected to achieve sales of SEK24m in 2006.
The divestment will generate SEK10m in liquidity and a capital gain of approximately SEK2m.
Sigma is headquartered in Gothenburg in Sweden. The company has 1,100 employees in Denmark, Sweden and Ukraine. Sigma is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 13.38 Swedish kronor (SEK).
